Norwalk Transportation and Public Services Facility

The Norwalk Transportation Center was a Design-Bid-Build method project, FTR and RNL collaborated from project inception through completion which formulated the basis of a professional relationship that continues today. RNL was commissioned to provide their professional services including Programming, Master Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design. FTR International Inc. effectively completed the construction of the Norwalk Transportation Center in 2002. This project is just one of the many intricate and complex industrial transportation projects that both entities have accomplished to date.

The Norwalk Transportation Center project is a 20,639 square foot, three-story Administration building, a 15,680 square foot Maintenance facility, and a 31,334 square foot Public Services building. The construction of facilities was intended to cater to the mass transit system of the City of Norwalk and was funded by Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The building features state-of-the-art technology and equipment that is used to monitor route operation areas, which includes the City of Norwalk and portions of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, La Mirada, and Whittier.
