FTR joins Port of Long Beach at grand opening of new Administration Building
The Port of Long Beach celebrated the official grand opening of the new Command and Control Center at Pier F on Monday, February 9, 2009. The event recognized the many organizations involved in the development and execution of the new facility, including FTR International Inc. and our essential contribution as General Contractor.
President James C. Hankla, Long Beach Board of Commissioners, released a formal announcement of the event in which he stated:
“The Command and Control Center opening is a milestone event both for the Port of Long Beach and for seaport security nationwide. This state-of-the-art facility is the first post-9/11 port security building constructed to meet the new demands and challenges of protecting the largest port complex in the nation.”
Following the successful completion of the Command and Control Center, FTR recently began construction on the new Administration and Operations buildings at Pier G. This addition to the Port of Long Beach will house many administrative departments that are vital to operations procedures at the Port.
