Orange County Public Law Library
The Orange County Public Law Library project required the extensive renovation and expansion of existing facilities. The completed 55,000 square foot structure accommodated the need for greater storage and organizational capacity regarding the public loan of electronic resources, audio/video recordings, and instructional aide materials while facilitating a greater number of public access computer workstations for escalating electronic research demands.
In addition to the remodeling of the existing library, a two-story above-ground building and a one-story below ground building were constructed in addition to a parking structure. Internet stations and additional auxiliary equipment were required, including a specialized teaching facility for technical training and education purposes. The project features the advantages of energy efficient lighting systems and sustainable fixtures while demonstrating the potential for eco-friendly building materials.
